 ​Parking & Handicapped Accessibility

The St. Pius X and Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes are both handicap accessible. Handicap parking is available at both parishes as well.

Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church handicap parking is found in the parking lot to the rear of the church. St. Pius X Church has handicap parking directly in front of the church (diagonal parking) and a space in front of the school building. There are also a few handicap spaces to the rear of the school building in the alley (St. Pius Way) by the lower level doors.

Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church has a handicap accessible restroom. Both the Visitation Community Center and the St. Pius X School building are also handicap accessible.

 Meet the Staff

Fr. Rick Kosisko, Pastor and Administrator
Father Richard J. Kosisko (Father Rick) was born February 25, 1958, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. He attended Conn-Area Catholic School and Geibel Catholic High School both in Connellsville. Father Rick grew up in his home parish, Immaculate Conception, Connellsville.

He received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from St. Pius X Seminary in Erlanger, Ky., and a master of divinity degree from Mary Immaculate Seminary in Northampton, Pa. Father Rick was ordained to the priesthood May 4, 1985, by the late Bishop William G. Connare.

In 1993, he received his licentiate in canon law from The Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. Father Rick then served in the diocesan Marriage Tribunal.

Father Rick previously served St. Barbara Parish, Harrison City (1985-88); St. Paul Parish, Greensburg (1988-1991); and Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg (1994-95) as a parochial vicar. In 1993, he served as chaplain of then Seton Hill College, Greensburg.

Father Rick's first pastorate was St. Sylvester Parish, Slickville (1995-98). From 1998-2008, he served as pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in North Huntingdon. On October 30, 2008, Father Rick arrived as pastor of St. Pius X and Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes.

Fr. Jose Ricky F. C​ortez, Pastoral Vicar
Father Ricky was born March 2, 1972, in Tampakan, South Cotabato, Philippines. He  grew  up  in  Mangagoy  Bislig  City, Surigao delSur, Philippines.  He was educated at Andres Soriano College, Bislig, Phillipines.  He also  attended St. Theresa College,  Tandag  City,  Surigao  del  Sur. He earned  his  B.A.  in  English  with  a minor in Philosophy from St. Peter Seminary in June 1989. Father Ricky earned a  M.A.  Degree  in Pastoral Ministry from St. John Vianney Theological Seminary, Cagayan de Oro City.

Father Ricky was ordained a  priest on August 22, 2000.  He has served as parochial vicar and parish priest in the Philippines.  From 2000-2015, in the Philippine Diocese, he has served as youth director, vice chancellor and chancellor.  He currently serves our partner parish community as parochial vicar, and the parish community of St. Raymond of the Mountains in Donegal.  

Sheryl Nagy, Director of Liturgical Music
Sheryl plans and coordinates all the liturgical music for the parishes.  She is responsible for recruiting and directing the parish cantors, adult and youth choirs and assists with the Ministry of Consolation funeral choir. Sheryl has been our director since July 2004.
Linda Amdy, Parish Secretary
Linda Amdy is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the parish office.  Among her many responsibilities are the parish bulletin, scheduling of baptisms, Mass and candle intentions, scheduling of ministers for weekend liturgies, as well as funerals. Linda joined our staff in August 2002.
Joe Klocek, Facilities & Business Manager
Handles all financial aspects of the parishes, including reports and accounts payable/receivable. He works closely with Fr. Rick and Ken Kujawa, maintenance supervisor, on items relating to all facilities. Joe oversees the day-to-day operations of the office, as well as working with and reporting to the parish finance councils. He manages the three parish cemeteries, and coordinates contractors working in the cemeteries. Joe has been on staff since March 2016.
Sister Edie Strong, Parish Administrator
Sister Edie Strong, S.C. coordinates the Rite of Cristian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), preparation for adults seeking baptism of their first child, sacramental preparation for couples planning marriage, other faith formation opportunities for adults, and the formation of liturgical ministers.  She coordinates the Ministry of Care and the parishes' art and environment committees.  She is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® through The Grief Recovery Institute® and offers the grief recovery process to parishioners and other grievers of the surrounding area.
Liz Norton, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry
Hailing from Traverse City, MI, Liz is in charge of the religious education of our younger parishioners, ages 5-35. She coordinates our Religious Education Program, runs our Junior and Senior High Youth Groups, and facilitates Young Adult Ministry. She has a Certificate in Youth Ministry from the University of Dayton and an MA in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH, where she graduated in May 2016, just three weeks before she joined our staff.
Ken Kujawa, Maintenance Supervisor
Ken is responsible for the long term and day-to-day maintenance of the parish buildings and grounds, such as the regular maintenance of systems, equipment and supplies. He also lends his talents to the buildings and parish grounds by offering his skills in plumbing, electrical and carpentry work. Ken has been on staff since February of 2002.
Sal Julianol and Ken Kowash, Sacristans
Sal and Ken prepare the churches for daily and weekly liturgies, weddings and funerals and are also responsible for training altar servers. Sal also coordinates wedding rehearsals for the parishes.  Sal began his work as sacristan in September 2001. Ken began his work in February 2000.
Pat Urban, Volunteer Office Assistant
Pat assists in the parish office by responding to phone calls, posting contributions, updating the parish census, handling genealogical research and assisting with the annual campaigns.
